To ensure our Sprouted Black Rice Powder is of the highest quality, we use independent, internationally certified laboratories to analyse our products on a regular basis, to confirm that they are organic, meet our strict quality controls, and contain all the essential nutrition,  antioxidants and anthocyanins that we claim; and also surpass the minimum industry standards for heavy metals, pesticides and microbe contamination.

The hidden dangers of Phytic acid in your diet

Rai Din Thai’s organic, sprouted black rice powder is a Whole Food, exactly the same as Mother Nature intended it to be. Only water is added for sprouting, and then removed during the freeze drying process. There are no added sugars, colourings, starches, flavourings, or other manufactured ingredients. It is the polar opposite of a processed food.

Modern society has lost touch with its ancestral heritage in the way we learnt to prepare our foods over thousands of years. Grains, nuts, seeds and beans are all rich in Phytic acid, – an enzyme inhibitor and anti-nutrient, that hinders our digestion and absorption of essential minerals.

Phytic acid is the principal storage mechanism of phosphorus in plant tissue, found in the bran of rice and other seeds. In addition to blocking phosphorus absorption, Phytic acid also binds with other minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. Phosphorus is a critical mineral for bones, growth and health, and in humans is locked into an unusable compound called phytate. Phytic acid not only sucks essential minerals into its orbit preventing their absorption, but also inhibits enzymes that we need to digest our food.

Sprouting it first is the secret to the release of all the essential vitamins and nutrients to make the rice bran more digestible. Sprouting it releases the enzyme Phytase that reduces and neutralizes the Phytic acid and liberates the phosphorus and other minerals. This is not the same as soaking it.

Commercial bran cereals and whole grains are very high in Phytic acid and any phytase is destroyed by heat in the manufacturing process. Rai Din Thai’s sprouted black rice powder is freeze dries. It’s not heated, processed or manipulated to be addictive in any form.

This Whole Food will result in a nutritious diet that is low in Phytic acid and sugar, and rich in easily digestible protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals.
